Kids making soil (with a little help from Nature)

Hey, kids! We really hope you enjoy the Native Garden.  When you’re there, you need to tell your feet, “Walk on the paths, not the plants!”  You can help the garden grow just by following these rules and let your friends know about them: No running or tag, and stay on the paths.

These kids in the picture are making top soil (the part of the soil that plants grow in).  What are the ingredients? Organic materials (dead plants), mineral (sand and rock) and time.
